If you wanna learn more about portrait drawing, check out my “Portrait Fundamentals Made Simple” course.
It’s a very beginner-friendly course that walks you through all the basics of portraiture, from constructing a basic head, facial proportions, drawing the features, and finally drawing a realistic portrait step-by-step.
Nice tutorial, very well done.
The reference wasn’t included so maybe it’s not fair to make this observation, but it looks lie the basic form of the hand was not captured. In my opinion, the reason is the line that rolls over the base of the thumb and seems to terminate on the ring finger creates a non-real sense of the palm. (line is discontinuous as it is obscured temporarily by the pinky finger) The index finger and the middle finger don’t seem to be attached to the basic hand and the perceived hand consists only of the thumb, the ring finger and the pinky. Simply moving the line so that it appears to terminate on the index finger would solve this.
Wow, that’s a great observation. Thank you very much for the feedback! 🙂
