I’ve been getting a lot of questions in my email about how to draw hair realistically.
So I decided to go into the hair drawing section in my Realistic Portrait Drawing course and put together this lesson for you.
There are many different types of hair, but this lesson will focus on how to draw short, dark hair.
The lesson is rather long so I decided to break it up into 3 parts. Each will cover a different aspect of drawing this reference photo.
How To Draw Short Hair [Lesson 1 of 3]
Just to let you know, this lesson is just a small sample from the Hair Drawing module in my Realistic Portrait Drawing course.
Inside I cover step-by-step how to draw many different types of hair including…
- blonde hair
- facial hair
- braided hair
- baby hair
- and much more
And of course the Hair Drawing module is just ONE section of the entire course. The course itself will go over every other aspect of how to draw a complete realistic portrait.
If you liked this lesson, then you should definitely check out the complete course.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this lesson.
I will be sending you the next lesson in the series in a few days so make sure to watch your inbox for an email from me.
Until next time, please help me out and hit the “LIKE” button on this page and share it with your friends.
And leave a comment below to let me know what you think!
what kind of paper are using?
Its very good to see how to draw the short hair and details of it.
I purchased your tutorials and am glad I did. I’m simply amazed at how fast I can draw a recognizable picture. I often take a picture as i progress the drawing. Thank you very much Eathan.
I will not use your system because of the use of graphs squares to copy.
What is the size of the graph paper you have the photo copied onto. What is the brand?
Thanks
hi
think the vid’s are great, one thing though, sometimes you are mumbling and
I cannot understand what u are saying.
when your ‘ad’ at the end comes on, it is nice and clear, the video might be better
if your voice was more clear.
but great vids!
thanks
Please photograph this with more contrast. It is very hard to see what is being done.
