Welcome back! And congratulation for making it this far into the series. Our drawing is almost complete!
In this lesson, we will continue learning about drawing realistic eyes. We just have to add a few more details before we can do the final “unveiling”.
And I promise you will be very happy with the end result.
OK, so in this video, I’ll show you how to draw in the eyelashes. This will really balance out your drawing:
If you wanna learn more about portrait drawing, check out my “Portrait Fundamentals Made Simple” course.
It’s a very beginner-friendly course that walks you through all the basics of portraiture, from constructing a basic head, facial proportions, drawing the features, and finally drawing a realistic portrait step-by-step.
Ethan,
I was able to see the strokes in this video and follow what you were doing. You did not appear to be in such a hurry. I am very aware that it has to do with the amount of the content in each video. Over all I sure have enjoyed this series and have noticed other video series on the site. I have been drawing for 45 years and have been told that I have natural talent. I cannot wait to try this from start to finish on my own. I am working toward being able to do a portrait of my deceased mother. Practice practice practice. Thank you SO VERY MUCH!
Great I just slimed through them and I am missing. Number 8
Just had hip surgery so I can’t do too much now. But I loved your lessons I I believe I will be able to do it. So long as I have the main ingredient. And that is patience
Thanks again
Ethan, your lessons and drawing tips are really awesome, thanks a lot.
Ethan, your lessons are first class, I have enjoyed all 8 lessons and I now feel much more confident
i’m the one who asked about reference photos, how do i order your hard copy book do you take pay pal
Hi,
Yes! I do that Pay Pal payments. The purchase automatically comes with a hard copy. Please use this order link to purchase the course: http://3.cedtosh3.pay.clickbank.net
does your course come with refference photos if so how many and what kind are they.,is your course a hard copy,i like books
Hi Joseph,
The course is a hard copy, but it is not a book. It is 2 DVD disk. The course does come with references photos, but they are not hard copies. You can however, download them from the member’s area and print them out very easily. Thank you for your question!
Hi! Ethan,
Another valuable video lesson and I “thank you”. The eyelash tutorial is like the icing on a cake….sweet! What a striking look it gives the eyes. Very nice.
Looking forward to the finished portrait. Thanks! again for sharing.
How wonderful of you to share this information. It truly is almost impossible to find really good, free art tutorials and besides the fact that the tut is great … it’s free!!! Your instructional videos are concise and easy to understand and anyone who really follows your instructions should be tickled with their end result! Thank you thank you! Charlie
Thank you for your timeHi Ethan,I have completed all your free tutorials, they were quite instructive but I cant say there has been a big improvement. Does your portrait course include a lot more detail or is it similar to those I have already seen?.Thank you, Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the question. I think I already sent you an email about this.
hello
i m fan for your videos
can you tell me witch pencil you use ?
hat race ?
sorry for my bad English
thanks
Hi Mella,
Sure. For this video series, I used a 5mm lead pencil with 2B lead. The brand of the pencil doesn’t really matter, as long as you get a lead pencil that you are comfortable with.
I’m really enjoying these session. i rush home from work just to follow theses sessions.
Wow. I’m glad you like them so much. Thanks for letting me know. Keeps me motivated to keep making more 🙂
thats it
Gotcha! That’s a great idea. I’ll be sure to work on that. Thanks, Cheryl.
that could work i suppose – i would like a little manual say 4×6 inches to put in my pencil case so that i could use it as a reference – you could do one for faces – one for different subjects – like a little library
I see, so like a mini-booklet of reference photo so you can use them to draw when you are on the go?
hi just reading some of the comments – i would prefer a booklet form of quick tip references as i do not always have the availability of power – i like to have a go at drawing when camping as that is the only free relaxing time that is available to me from time to time
That’s a great idea, Cheryl. On that topic, I was thinking about creating a PDF cheat sheet for each of the lessons in the course that basically summarize the main points with some pictures. That way you can print it out and take it with you on the go. What do you think of that idea?
the eye is looking amazing –
I love your videos and only having 8 videos I learn so much from you I used to get so frustrated when I drew because it looked like crap but I don’t think we’ll have that problem anymore 🙂
As a beginner I am finding your videos very elpful, Thanks
Great!!
I agree a CD to re-play on the computer would be a tremendous help to us amatuers. I am getting so much out of them it would be a helpful reference in the future.
Thank you again Ethan for a very imformative lesson.
I’ve been getting a lot of request to have the portrait course on a hard disk. So I’m definitely going to look into how to do that. But just to be sure, would you rather have it on a CD ROM (that can only be played on the computer) OR a DVD disk (that will only play in a DVD player)?
Thank you for the feedbacks.
At last my eyelashes will be more realistic in future. You have helped me so much THANKYOU
Awesome!
Another great video Ethan, thanks
Many thanks for making such great videos for free!
Good post! This is the kind of information that should be distributed on the online community. I would like to read more of this.
I am with Barb, I would like to have the actual discs.
Ok, I’ll look into that. Thanks for the input.
Very, Very Helpful. Thanks!
I should have said cd’s
That’s a great suggestion, Barbara. I’ll try to work on it. Would you like the CD to be viewable on the computer or a TV?
Would love to have the art course, sounds great , great, BUT I would like it on disk not downdloads. thanks anyway
amazed at the difference these techniques make, much more realistic. Are you going to do the rest of the face at any stage, would love tips on shading around the mouth and cheeks. Thanks for everything so far.
Hi Sue,
I will be releasing my advance portrait drawing course where we’ll be covering every part of the face (including an entire portrait). If you like, you can check out the details here: http://mydrawingtutorials.com/portrait-drawing-course. I’m also planning on releasing more free tutorials. Thanks for the suggestion on the lips and cheeks tutorial. I’ll see what I can do.
I did not know that you need to draw curved edges on the eye lid from which the eye lashes originate.
